# CS-46: Multilingual service onboarding

Category: Inclusion & everyday access
Level: Intermediate
Suggested duration: 3–4 weeks

Original UXCharan practice scenario. Validate assumptions; do not present it as a commissioned client project.

## Problem
A fictional appointment service switches language inconsistently across steps. Explore language selection, content parity and recovery when a translation is unavailable; test with speakers instead of assuming translated copy works.

## People to learn from
Adults choosing between English and a regional language

## Core scope
- Choose language
- complete a task
- switch language

## Research questions
- When do people switch languages?
- Which terms should remain consistent?

## Edge cases
- Partial translation
- long text

## Specific artefact
A bilingual content model and switch behaviour

## Evaluation question
Can participants finish the same task in their preferred language?

## Work to share
Problem and role; anonymised evidence; alternatives and rationale; task flow; prototype; accessibility considerations; testing findings; revisions and honest limitations.
